The IWGS international fellowship of water gardeners includes new water gardeners keen to learn, experienced water gardeners eager to share, commercial growers, hybridizers, botanical garden and college professionals, hobbyists with wide ranging experience, aquatic plant specialists, fish specialists, manufactures of water garden products, installers and retailers, and others who appreciate the delights of water in the landscape.
The IWGS is the International Registrar for the genera Nymphaea and Nelumbo (waterlilies and lotus). In several parts of the world, the IWGS has Certified Collections of waterlilies that are true to name, well maintained, diverse, and open to visitation for members to cross reference their own varieties and for general public to gain appreciation of the genus Nymphaea.
