Plans are rapidly evolving to make the IWLS' 9th Symposium an outstanding event. This will be your opportunity to see many of the attractions of one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities combined with informative seminars, visits to major water gardening retailers, tours of famous botanical gardens, moonlight dinner cruise viewing New York's skyline, first class accommodations, concurrent spouse program, expanded vendor displays.

Conference Hotel - The Rye Town Hilton in Rye Brook, NY has been selected as Symposium Headquarters.

The newly renovated 525 rooms facility is surrounded by acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and has two swimming pools, exercise room, tennis courts, beauty salon, excellent restaurants and spacious, well appointed guest rooms. The hotel is located in Westchester County just north and a short 35 minute train ride from midtown Manhattan. We have negotiated a fixed rate of $99.00/night for you, single or double - excellent value in the New York City area. You must make your reservation early, however, as this popular hotel books solid in the summer months at a published rate of $160.00/night.

Tuesday - July 27 - Pre Symposium
Paradise Water Gardens, WhitmanMA. (Near Boston). Outstanding collection of rare and new Nymphaeas.

Wednesday - July 28
A day in NYC to explore on your own. Bus drop-off, pick-up provided at various locations of interest; Metropolitan Museum of Art, 5th Avenue shopping, Battery Park for the ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, theatre district (we will block book some tickets for "Phantom of the Opera")
Evening Welcome Reception.

Thursday - July 29 - Symposium
Morning seminars
Afternoon tour of Russell Page
Designed Gardens at Pepsico World Headquarters, Wave Hill Gardens on the Hudson River, NY Botanical Gardens.
Evening on your own.

Friday - July 30
Afternoon tour of Matterhorn Nursery and Waterford Gardens.
Barbeque at Waterford.

Saturday - July 31
Tour of Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Lunch in the Glass Palm House overlooking the lily pools.
Visit to Scherer' s Water Garden on Long Island
Evening - Hall of Fame banquet

Sunday - August 1
Morning - seminars
Lunch at Hotel
Afternoon - seminars
Evening - Dinner cruise on the Hudson River.

Monday - August 2 - Post Symposium
Bus tour to Don Schnoor's Aquatic Gardens in Jobstown, N.J.
Lunch at Don's
Travel to Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, P.A.
Dinner at Longwood - illuminated fountain display.

Tuesday - August 3
Longwood (it's a very large, lovely garden) or alternate Winterthur; evening departures via Phila.
