ACHIEVEMENTS

Modern Technology may have made water gardening more affordable and available but it took a brilliant mind to make the connection between a roofing material and a water gardens. Bill Heritage conducted extensive experimentation with the new materials and modestly describes his contribution in his article titled “It’ll Never Catch On” Part I December 1985 and Part II March 1987 issues of The Water Garden Journals:
It was Bill Heritage who encouraged Fr. J M Berghs to join the IWLS. ” ..I keep the best memories of Bill Heritage, who put me on track to become a regular contributor the The Water Garden Journal, from which ensued my membership of the Society. He lives on in my mind as a kind gentleman and dear friend.”
Bill and his wife the lovely and charming Irene are devoted members of the society having only missed a few of our symposiums! We owe a great debt of gratitude to Bill Heritage. Latour-Marliac enthralled us with the many forms and hues of water lilies, Bill Heritage enabled us to grow them in our own backyard.
