For his work with native and hybrid waterlilies in Thailand and South    East Asia, and for his extensive promotion of waterlilies through lectures, books, and workshops.  He is also noted for his significant contributions to the Exchange of  information and resources between South East Asia and the rest of the world in the field of water gardening.
