The International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society (IWGS) took a step toward the future this month when it unveiled its new logo. The new logo symbolizes the Society’s international membership and its dedication to the furtherance of water gardening and its associated plants.
The previous logo was created when the non-profit organization was known simply as the International Waterlily Society. The name was later changed in 1998 to the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society to reflect the expanded scope from waterlilies to all aspects of water gardening.
“A new logo has been discussed for some time,” says IWGS President, Jim Purcell. “We wanted a logo that not only represents our passion for waterlilies and water gardening, but that reflects our international reach, as well.”
The new logo shows a pink waterlily embraced by the globe. Green and blue leaves symbolize a lily pad atop water. With the official launch of the new logo, the Society also reveals that a new website is currently underway and will go live later this summer or early fall.
The IWGS will begin incorporating its new logo into marketing materials this month. For more information on the IWGS, log on to www.iwgs.org or call 585-293-9144.
